Archives For new years reolutions

See ya Next Year

Since this is my last post of the year, I thought I would share with you a few of my new years resolutions.  First of all, are any of you amazed at how fast a year goes by?  Last year my new years resolution was to finally start blogging.  I didn’t get around to it until March but I did it and I can’t believe that I actually have readers!  (Besides just my mom and my mom-in-law)  I do not take it lightly that you show up each week to read and I am excited to keep producing content that will keep you coming back.  I am also going to intermix some of my personal resolutions in there too.

1.)  Take Better Pictures

I got a new camera for christmas.  It’s not ”fancy smancy” but its alot nicer than the one I had.  Most importantly, it makes it easy to take better pictures.

2.)  Get down to the details.

I know I havent started showing you my latest completions but I promise they are coming.  I have been working hard to get my house done for guests. I really want to try some fun things to finish off the details like a new light fixture here:

Put the hardware on here:

3.)  Cook more.

I am an awful cook.  No, I am not that bad, it’s just not my favorite thing to do and I don’t like to take risks.  Pick up a power saw…YES.  Pick up an electric mixer….I get all sweaty and nervous.  I am a full-time worker plus part-time blogger so its easy to push it out of my time but I need to cook more.  Pinterest is going to help me. I might not blog about it but I might.  I for sure will be putting my favorites on Pinterest so you can follow me there. (iloverehabs)

4.)  Start Rehabbing Furniture

If I could open a store I would.  I won’t because I like my job, but I would love to rehab furniture and maybe even sell it on consignment.  For example, this chair is dying for a rehab.  I got it at a thrift store for $10.00!

OF course, I will blog about any rehabs I do.  I had so much fun making this bench and I love that it allows someone else to have a unique piece of furniture in an area where there is not a lot of options for uniqueness.

5.)  Run more.

I used to be a runner.  I have even ran two marathons.  I don’t make time for it anymore.  I used to say that I dont have time, but the truth is I do.  I just don’t make time)  This is gonna change.  Any one of my friends want to join?

6.)  I want to start a new monthly or bi-monthly post of reader rehabs.

I want to see what you are doing out there.  Many of you don’t have time to blog but are doing some amazing stuff.  I would love for you to show others how. I also selfishly want to see your dumpster dives or how you make your space work in your house.  I want to learn from you.

7.)  Do some giveaways this year and help you with your rooms.

I don’t know how or what but I want to post some giveaways, even if it’s just a thank you for reading.  I am not sponsored so I am sure it’s not going to be extravagant.  But it could be something I love that I am picking up for myself…maybe I will pick up two to give one to you.  Its my way of saying thanks.  I also want to help you with your rooms if you want help.  I will post more on this soon.

8.)  Be a better wife.

That will start with cooking :)  But honestly, my sweet hubbie has a few talents up his sleeve and I want to help him with his goals and dreams. He has been my biggest supporter of me starting this blog.  It takes time away from him but he joins in and helps a ton.  I want to support him the way he supports me.

There ya have it.  I have to go now because I have a porkloin in the oven.  Erika, thanks for the recipe.  It’s not even the new year and I have started!  Why wait?  See you next year!  Have a Happy New Year!

Thanks for reading,

Jennifer
